Margaret Westerman is the daughter of Charles Westerman and Eleanor
Clifford Westerman. The earliest record I have of Charles and Eleanor are in Rowan Co., NC. They left NC about 1784 and went
to Fayette Co., KY, then settled in Madison Co., KY, on Silver Creek, then gradually moved southward to Lincoln and Pulaski
Counties of Kentucky.
Most of the family seem to have migrated to Tennessee to the counties of Warren, then Bedford,
Lincoln, Perry, Decatur and Henderson in that order as time passed. Margaret and James stayed in KY.
About 1848 the
Westerman family began to spread out. Some went to Texas, some to Arkansas, and some to Missouri.
The known children
of Charles and Eleanor Westerman are: John, Margaret, William, Charles and two girls whose names we do not know.
